You will always see the full total in your booking summary before you pay. The booking fee is inclusive of GST, and the GST component is itemised on your receipt.

- Is the platform really FREE?
- Yes. Family accounts and sitter profiles are always FREE, forever. There are no subscriptions and no monthly plans. The only cost is a 9.9% booking fee added to each booking paid through Village.
- What is the 9.9% booking fee?
- A 9.9% booking fee is added to every booking paid through Village. It covers secure payments, verified reviews, messaging, and platform support. Clifton Memorial Group Pty Ltd is registered for GST, so the fee is GST inclusive and the GST component is shown on your receipt. No other fees apply, no matter how long the booking.
- How much do sitters charge?
- Sitters set their own hourly rate (typically $25 to $45 per hour) and keep 100% of it. The 9.9% booking fee is charged on top and paid by the family.
- Is there a minimum booking?
- Yes, all bookings have a two hour minimum. Above that you can book any duration, including overnight and multi day stays, still with the same 9.9% booking fee.
- How do payments work?
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe when a sitter accepts your booking, and the funds are held until the booking completes. The sitter's rate plus the 9.9% booking fee is charged up front, and the sitter's rate is released after the booking is completed. No cash changes hands.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, cancel any booking up to 24 hours ahead and the sitter's amount is refunded in full. The 9.9% booking fee is retained to cover platform costs, except where the Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise. Late cancellations may incur a small fee to fairly compensate the sitter's held time.
