The Working with Children Check is Western Australia's baseline child safety screen. Here's what every parent should know.
What it is
A WWCC is a background assessment run by the WA Department of Communities that checks a person's national criminal record and reportable behaviour history.
Who needs one
Any adult in paid or unpaid work with children, including all Village babysitters, must hold a current WWCC card before their first booking.
How Village verifies
We take the card number, expiry date and full name at signup and cross reference it directly with the WA register before approving any sitter.
What it does not cover
A WWCC is a floor, not a ceiling. That's why Village adds a national police check, first aid certification and identity match on top.
